ointments for acne, fact or fable?
We all had ever experienced: Acne. Usually during puberty, but it can still occur in adults. A problem in most cases eventually turns again, but in the meantime it does have a huge impact on your life.

In particular, the self-esteem gets a big dent with common mental health problems as a result.

What is acne exactly?

Acne is officially a medical term for the well-known acne. Usually, the medical term is never used in popular parlance, but for acne this is something else. In popular parlance the two terms are thus used interchangeably.

Acne and pimples is exactly the same.

Almost everyone gets acne during the teen years, some more than others, but for most it is inevitable. But not only during this difficult adolescent years, you can suffer from here, even in your adult life it happens that you get acne.

A year before puberty commitment, acne can start playing. This is often so slight that you often do not notice, but there was actually something to your skin. Acne is, in most cases, on the face, on the chest and on the upper part of the back.

Obviously this is not the same for everyone and this can vary from person to person. Fortunately, the degree of acne, in most cases very light, but the severe forms also occur regularly. Not only the disease itself is a burden, but also its consequences: The disfigurement of the face, low self esteem, difficulty with relationships and major psychological problems are the direct result of acne.

Not only for these reasons, but also in order to avoid scarring as much as possible, it is important to intervene rapidly and to apply a proper treatment.

The causes of acne

The basis of most forms of acne is in an excess of hormones that provide an increased manufacturing and talc epitelisering. The channels in your face, which normally transport the sebum in your skin, go hide and get your end black dots. In very severe cases this can cause very serious infections of the skin.

A typical condition for young people but also adults can suffer from this.

In earlier times, and sometimes still is, was often told that you get pimples chocolate, pork and fries with mayo. Some may indeed be sensitive here, but science has never proved this. There are many factors that affect acne, but the biggest role of heredity herein and a strong imbalance in the hormone system.

Okay, heredity can be little more with it, that's just a fact that you can not ignore. But those pesky hormone imbalance is affecting sound, either through medication or through more natural methods.

The IGF-Factor

It's been a long time known that the hormone imbalance is a major factor in causing acne. It is for this reason that very often hormones are prescribed by the doctor. Researchers are also already known for a while with the growth factor IGF-1, which has a great influence on the possible emergence of acne.

IGF-1 stands for Insulin-Like Growth Factor. The molecular structure is similar to insulin and is for the most part produced by the liver. An important element in the growth period of children and adolescents. Researchers have shown that at the moment that the IGF-1 to reach the peak in the body, the acne is generally at its worst.

The production of IGF-1 increases when you eat a lot of carbohydrates and sugars. The extra insulin thereby produced by the body, let the IGF-1 levels rise sharply, with all its consequences for the acne. In addition, the level rises when you eat a lot of dairy products, especially milk drinks.

The IGF-1 levels can thus be increased from 20% to 30%. And, in spite of the fact that milk has a low glycemic index, however, increases the insulin production in the body, again with an even higher IGF-1 level as a result.

Natural remedies for acne

Natural remedies

There are many creams and other little lubricant on the market that all promise the same thing: Within a few weeks the acne disappeared. Some work indeed, others have no income at all. The fact is that all of them each and every one time and when you stop taking the medication, the acne comes back just as quickly.

It is clear from the previous section, which include nutrition plays a big role, so go alone probably will not work medicines.

I hereby give you some possible treatments and resources that can solve your problem in a natural and permanent way:

Avoid milk, sugar and carbohydrates

As I explained earlier, it is better to avoid as much as possible these products or completely stop. Ok, not easy and not always sustainable. But it is clear that these products provide for an increase of the IGF-1 levels, which in turn is a cause of acne.

Keep your blood sugar at a healthy level

This is an opinion which is of course linked to the previous point. But this is actually extends much further. By keeping your blood sugar at a healthy level, no unnecessary insulin is making the IGF-1 level remains lower. Not only is this better for acne, it is also much better for your overall health, especially for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

so eat as much as possible products with low to very low glycemic index. Want to know what is the Glycemic Index? Then read this article here on the Glycemic Index, which I have written a few months ago.
